The BNCARE (Bloomington-Normal Community Air Research & Education) project brings local organizations, researchers, and residents together to better understand the air we breathe. Through neighborhood air monitoring, public education, and community partnerships, BNCARE collects real-time data on key pollutants and translates it into practical knowledge people can use to protect their health. This report summarizes our first year of monitoring, outreach, and engagement — highlighting what we’ve learned about local air quality, how the community is responding, and where the project is headed next.
