BNCARE announces Air Quality Monitoring Workshop

Bloomington-Normal’s summer season started on a hazy note, as multiple air quality events affected the area. These included the mid May dust storms, and multiple days of wildfire smoke drifting down from Canada in the beginning of June. With these incidents fresh in resident’s minds, it’s more important than ever for the people of Bloomington-Normal to learn about air quality, air pollutants, and how to measure them.

The Bloomington-Normal Community Air Research and Education (BNCARE) program invites residents to join them on July 21, 2025 for an free air monitoring workshop. This workshop will give hands on training with the BNCARE program’s portable air monitors, inform residents about the program, and educate on air quality and public health impacts of air pollution.
